The Idaho Self-Advocate Leadership Network Incorporated (ISALN)
Individuals with developmental disabilities from all parts of the state of Idaho came together to form the Idaho Self-Advocate Leadership Network Incorporated. Our network was formed through the Idaho Council on Developmental Disabilities (ICDD), which brought people together to be consultants. Under the direction of Christine Pisani, a Program Specialist, groups of two or three were educated and formed into 7 regional teams. Our teams covered the state, giving presentations and educating individuals, promoting self-advocacy and self-determination. We went to various places, doing presentations such as:
- Self-Advocacy 101
- Working for Change
- Determined to Vote
ISALN Mission Statement
To advance equality through growth, education, and advocacy by providing opportunities so individuals with disabilities may achieve their greatest unique potential.
