IBI Training Cadre Announcement
Effective January 1, 2009, all IBI certification training will be provided by the ITC. Only trainings taught by ITC selected and contracted instructors will be considered Department of Health and Welfare approved IBI certiciation training.
Additionally, the ITC and the Department of Health and Welfare have developed new policies regarding the supervision of IBI Student Projects. Agencies and schools will now be required to register Supervisors of IBI Student Projects with the ITC.

Welcome to the Idaho Training Cooperative
The Idaho Training Cooperative (ITC) is a collaboration between the Idaho Department of Health & Welfare (DHW), the Center on Disabilities and Human Development (CDHD), the State Department of Education (SDE), providers, and parents. The ITC advises the CDHD staff on issues of development, coordination, and implementation of the certification process for Developmental Specialists (DS) and Intensive Behavior Interventionists (IBI).
Mission Statement
To create a quality, coordinated, collaborative system of training and certification for IBI and DS professionals to best serve children with developmental disabilities and their families.
ITC Roles
- CDHD staff develops curriculum, provides train the trainer workshops and courses, and facilitates the certification process.
- Idaho Department of Health Welfare provides funding, oversight, rules, and monitoring.
- State Department of Education, Providers, Parents, and other agency representatives provide feedback and recommendations.
