IBI Student Project Supervisors

REGISTRATION

Effective January 1, 2009, all agencies and schools must designate a person(s) to supervise all IBI Student Projects.  Each designated Project Supervisor must be registered with the ITC by November 24, 2008.  The first mandatory Supervisor training webinar is scheduled to be held on Wednesday December 3, 2008 at 3:00 (MST).

During the six (6) month practicum interval, a Project Supervisor's role is to support and coach the student, who has completed the Department approved IBI training.  A Project Supervisor oversees the student's project and should have the skills to assist the student to successfully complete all project activities.  A Project Supervisor should demonstrate the ability to provide ongoing observation and feedback to the student so he or she can successfully develop (Professional only) and implement an IBI Implementation Plan.

A Project Supervisor is expected to:  a) attend 3-4 webinar trainings conducted by the ITC; b) provide a minimum of 10 hours of observation of the student they are supervising; and c) complete and submit ITC forms as requested.

An agency or school is encouraged to designate more than one person to be a Project Supervisor.  A registration form must be submitted for each potential Supervisor.  An approved Project Supervisor must meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a current IBI Professional certificate in good standing (provider has maintained annual training as set forth in IDAPA Rule)
  • Has provided IBI services for at least one year since receiving full certification
